SERVICEING REPAIRS Professional affordable service to keep you moving TRADE IN BIKE CRITERIA To be eligible for trade in, you must meet the following criteria:​ ​ Have a Carrera bike (excludes all electric bikes and the following models; Fury, Transit, Crossfire LTD, Crixus, Gryphon, Titan and Subway A/W). ​ Have a visible frame number on the Carrera bike. You will find this on the bottom bracket shell (right on the bottom of the bike on the bit of the frame between the pedals). ​ Your bike must be clean, so we can inspect it accurately. ​ There must be no outstanding finance agreements in place on the bike. ​ Have 2 forms of proof of ID with you when selling the bike. One must be an original photo ID (such as a passport) and one should be a proof of address item (accepted forms include a utility bill or council tax letter dated within the last 9 months. HOW IT WORKS Follow the steps below to trade in your old bike: ​ Step 1: Check your bike is eligible to trade in. If you are interested in trading in your Carrera bike, please make sure it is eligible by checking our FAQs and trade in criteria. Key things to check is that it is a Carrera bike with a visible frame number, it is not on our list of exclusions and it has been cleaned ready for inspection. Learn more about whether your bike is eligible to trade in. ​ Step 2: Book your valuation at one of our selected stores. Once your bike is cleaned up and you've checked it meets our criteria, book a valution slot on this page. Slots can be booked for a time and date that suits you to bring your bike in. ​ Step 3: Bring your bike into store for your appointment. Take your bike along to your selected store along with 2 forms of ID to complete your valuation. Forms of ID accepted include - Passport or Driving License along with proof of address e.g. utility bills. ​ Step 4: Your bike assessment will take place. One of our expert mechanics will inspect and assess your bike by completing a 32-point health check to determine the condition and safety. We will then offer you the value of the bike in the form of a Halfords gift card which can be used both online and in store towards your next purchase. ​ Step 5: Receive your Halfords gift card. If you are happy with the valuation and wish to trade your bike in, we can do this straight away. All that we need from you is to sign some paperwork to hand over the bike and we will give your gift card to spend as and when you wish.
